Craft of Kindness #1

Craft of Kindness

Welcome to the first Craft of Kindness Sketch!  Instead of performing "Random Acts of Kindness", we'll be creating bi-monthly "Crafts of Kindness".  Here are the details:
  1. I'll post a sketch twice a month on Sunday.
  2. Complete the sketch and email it to me: misyra@gmail.com (I'll post your picture on my blog.)
  3. Bring your card to donate to the next Card for Kindness event.
  4. Each person who participates will receive the sketch pattern free for participating and be added in the monthly Stampin' Up! drawing.
  5. The drawing will be held once a month.  You may be entered up to two times a month!
  6. The drawing will take place at the monthly Cards for Kindness event.

Cards for Kindness--Locally!

Spreading Local Kindness to my Family!

I am an aunt, again!  My sister-in-law had her third child Wednesday.  She is a tiny, but beautiful, baby girl!  She weighs less than five pounds! They were keeping the sex a surprise, so I couldn't make her a card in advance.  So, I dropped everything and made a baby girl card to celebrate her arrival!

We couldn't wait to go visit our new family member.  As Uncle Jimmy said, he couldn't wait to tease her.  (He's an ornery uncle!)

She arrived home today, and it occurred to me to ask if she received a crib card.  Not only had she received a crib card, but she received one I personally made a week ago.  It was so touching to know that my family member was a recipient of our Cards for Kindness mission!

My sister-in-law loved it.  She said, "I did receive it! I love the idea, but I might love it as much because your connection."

I know many of us will miss Operation Write Home, but I am very excited to know we are making people happy and spreading kindness locally!

Remember Cards for Kindness is tomorrow from 1-4 p.m.  I hope you can make it and help us continue to make cards for others to share kindness, love, and celebrations!

2015-2016 Cards for Kindness Calendar

Check out our monthly themes for sharing kindness with others locally!

A New Direction: Fun & Changes

Hello, Crafty Friends!

As you know, Operation Write Home is soon closing for good.  August 1st will be their last day accepting cards.  For more information, please see the following link: http://operationwritehome.org/finishstrong/

We will certainly miss making cards for our hero's families, but we are excited that the troops are heading home!

In order to become more independent, I am excited to announce two changes.  First, I will now generate our theme calendar.  I will upload it and share it at our monthly card making parties.

This month's theme:
Birthday, Thinking of You, and Missing You

This month's party is June 27th.

Secondly, I will be creating a twice a month card challenge.  I will place the names of those who participate in a drawing for a small gift each month.  Stay tuned for details!

I hope summer is treating you well and you're able to attend our next crafting event:
